What? Busy? With twins? No way!

So, when I started this blog I thought, "sure, I can keep a simple little blog updated fairly often, right?" Yea... Ok, so it's only been a week but I feel like it's been forever as it seems that everyday gets busier and busier! My day usually goes as follows:
4:50 AM- Alarm goes off for the first time.
5:15-5:20-Finally give in and roll out of bed and into the shower while Matt feeds/dresses babies.
6ish-Help finish feeding and getting bottles together, etc. If I'm lucky and not running late, this is when I get to eat breakfast.
6:30-hit the road
7ish-drop the girls off at daycare and go to work
3:30-4ish-pick up girls from daycare and go home.
4:30-5 play with Hailey and Hannah
5ish-feed Hailey and Hannah some veggies and cereal
6:30-7ish-Give the girls a bottle and dress them for bed (bathtime also)
7:30-I get to relax!?!? SOMETIMES. Sometimes they wake up to eat again before we go to bed at 10.
Somewhere in there I manage to eat supper and either Matt or I wash bottles.

It just seems that the day goes by so fast lately, I usually bring home stuff from work to grade or whatever, but don't really feel like it by the time I have a moment to do it... Please don't take this the wrong way, I honestly don't mind that my children take up such a huge portion of my life, I believe it's supposed to be that way and if somebody does not like it, then they should not have kids. Hailey and Hannah are the biggest blessings I have. And thankfully, I have a wonderful husband who helps out SO much in the morning. (If it wasn't for him, I would probably be waking up at 4!) I'm just thinking, wow, where is the time going? It does not seem like too long ago that Hailey and Hannah were still in the "sleep all the time" stage. That stage was kinda nice but not nearly as fun as things are now!

What we've learned today!

Hannah sitting!!!

Well, I've only been home with girls a few hours and have discovered some new "talents." Hailey has learned how to scream. Not an "I'm tired" or "I'm hungry" scream. Just a I want to scream for the heck of it. It's pretty funny, she kept doing for like 15 minutes, and just really amused herself. She has also become a pro at rolling over and is trying so hard to get up on all fours!

Hannah managed to sit up by propping herself with her hands (I helped her out of course) for a few seconds! It didn't last long, and she did it much better before we got the camera out. Either way, thought I'd share the pic and a few of the girls enjoying their new jumperoo!

For those who don't know us, the girls were born at 29 weeks gestation and so even though they are not doing things most 7 month olds do, they are doing great for their adjusted age (almost 5 months old)

We're on a roll!

Hailey and Hannah have suddenly become better at turning over from their backs to their tummies. They are particularly good at it when we're not in the room! Twice tonight when I was not looking, Hannah rolled off the blanket onto the hard floor, and she did not start off that close to the edge. They are not totally mobile but are pretty good at wiggling around and getting on their tummies!

Don't know if I'm ready for them to start crawling yet... I don't think they are too close because they don't get up on their knees yet. I'm a little excited and nervous about that milestone! Everyone seems to talk like I don't ever want them to crawl, but as far as they have come from birth, I look forward to the milestones! Sure, I miss the little newborn stage but at the same time I'm so excited about them growing and learning new things!

Better me than you!

Well, here I am again playing on the internet when I should be doing other stuff! Oh well... I so just wanted to relax this afternoon. I did not get home until about 5 so I was pretty tired.

Hailey and Hannah seem to be getting better. :) I can't wait to be done with the medicine. Hailey takes hers really well but Hannah hates it. Tonight she spit up her bottle when I gave it to her. Ugh. It was everywhere. She started laughing after getting all cleaned up, guess she thought it was funny that she got out of taking her medicine. :) At least I knew she was feeling ok. They have done so much better today than this weekend.

So here's the random thought for the day... I seem to have a lot of people (none of whom have twins) tell me "I just don't see how you do it" or "I can't imagine" or, the worst one, "Better you than me!" I can handle the first two comments cause yea, I guess for somebody who has never had two infants it seems pretty hard. I'm sure there are mom's with one baby who have a hard time. I have heard horror stories of being up every hour on the hour! For me, this is all I know. I've never had to take care of just one baby so I don't know if it's any easier or not. I think my babies are pretty good and easy to take care of, unless they are sick or tired and not wanting to sleep. Otherwise, they are great! But the "better you than me" comment bothers me. It's like they are saying ohh, you're not lucky at all, you have TWINS. Like it's some sort of curse! Umm... I happen to be very proud of my twins and consider them to be a HUGE blessing. So technically, I guess they are right that it is better me than them because I appreciate my babies and love them so incredibly much and cannot imagine life without them! Even with the fits, and the sickness now, and double the amounts of diapers, I would not trade them for anything.

Sorry for rant, just felt like getting my opinion out. :)

We're sick...

Well, Hailey and Hannah both have their first official sicknesses. Not really a first you celebrate. When their congestion was not getting better and Hannah started coughing we took them to the doctor. Sure enough, Hailey has an ear infection (probably explains some of the screaming fits) and Hannah has bronchialitis (spelling?)It's basically baby bronchitis. She sounds awful when she coughs, I feel horrible for her. Hannah had to have two breathing treatments at the doctor's office, hopefully the cough will clear up and we won't have to do those at home. Other than the cough, she is acting like her usual self. Hailey has just been a little fussier than normal. They have slept a good bit this afternoon so I guess that's good. Ugh, I just can't stand them being sick. I hope I'm not getting sick, my throat has been pretty sore the past couple of days. At least we have the weekend coming up!

I guess I need to quit messing around on the internet, there is a ton of stuff to get done.

Sleepy babies...

Well, I've been home about 2 hours and Hailey and Hannah have been sleepy girls! I'm thankful when they are peaceful but at the same time I kind of don't like it when they are so sleepy after a full day of being away from them. :( I really really need to be using this time to work on some school stuff, i.e. putting grades in the computer!! But it was nice to kick back and relax after a long day! Keeping things short tonight, I'm about to go eat some pizza... how healthy!
